Intro:

From time to time Christians get to a point where it seems like there is no pay back.

We think we gave a tithe on Sunday & there should have been a check in the mail on Thursday.

We all get weary. At some point in our Christian life we just get tired of being good.

After all, it seems like nobody else is, so why should we be?

We try to have high moral standards.

We do the right thing the right way only to watch others get ahead of us.

*            It is okay to be tired & weary Gal 6:9a "And let us not be weary in well doing:…"

Isaiah 40 here God addresses this subject as a relevant subject for us today…

40:1-5

            *            What the prophet is saying- is that it LOOKS to you that God is INACTIVE but He is                                     preparing a WAY TO KEEP HIS PROMISE!

- So God is going to ask some questions - because like us we focus on our needs

1.            Who is so powerful to control the waters & the heavens? 40:12a

2.            Before you walk away & quit - Do you remember who you are DEALING with. 40:12b-14

3.            Judah are so worried about Assyria & your king? 40:15-17

4.            Before you get out of that marriage, job, ministry, think about WHO you are abandoning?

            40:18, 21

5.            Who are the people you are afraid of? 40:22

6.            Have you forgotten your past protection & deliverance by God? 40:23-24

7.            Is there an equal to our Me? … Your God is an AWESOME GOD! 40:25-27

8.            Why don't I  get weary of you? 40:28

            -            It is not working out to your satisfaction- but that's no reason to abandon God.

Conclusion: Here is the promise…40:29-31

 *            God is saying, "Please, please, please when you get weary, do NOT abandon me."

Maybe you need to read Isaiah 40 for the next seven days - and pause to think about what you read.

Galatians. 735 years later

Gal. 6:9b "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
