Boys on stage with me on barstools…
I would ask them this basic question…

"What are some of the things your generation is looking for?"

Some areas to consider:
Looking for fulfillment
Looking for purpose
Looking for a place of acceptance…

The most connected generation ever- AIM, text messaging, cell phones, my space…
- They hang out together… sharing their weaknesses.
- Even growing up in church there is a "dryness"; it is boring & they checkout.
* So try to find fulfillment in other things; sex, drugs, fantasy, etc.

* Try the church thing, but it isn't working… so they attend but are still unfulfilled, unsatisfied, bored, and dry.

* Describes the process of the Christian life- not get saved & everything is OK.

Joel 1:1-12 Tell your children of it, and let them tell their children, and so on…

Ps. 78:3-8 Why plant seeds that have life in them?
1) (v7) To set their hope in God
2) (v7) So as not to forget the works of God - by keeping His commandments
3) (v8) So not to repeat history- as their parents were stubborn & rebellious
* A generation that their heart was not right
* A generation whose spirit was not steadfast
