20/20 I-Sight?
Vision series #4
September 10, 2006
Pastor Mike Matijevich

*Vision is:

- A clear mental picture of what could be fueled by the conviction that it should be.
- Vision is a preferred future (a destination)
- Vision always stands in CONTRAST to the world AS IS.
- Vision DEMANDS change
- A vision always calls for someone to champion the cause. (The COURAGE to ACT!)

But HOW can we act on a vision if we suffer from poor I-sight?

A. Some see themselves as too high
B. Some see themselves as too low
* The two extremes of poor I-sight are self-loving to self-loathing
*Where is the truth? Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (see Phil. 4:11-12)

God’s cure for poor "I-sight" is...worship

I. WE worship GOD BECAUSE WE NEED TO

a. It lifts your eyes off self and sets them on God - (Ps 29:1-2)
b. It gives God honor & offers Him standing ovations - (Rom 12:1)
c. It places God on center stage & us in our proper posture - (1 Chron.16:2&-29)

David leads them in a prayer of worship...

- To the “I can do anything” crowd - 1 Chron. 29:9-14
- To the “I can't do anything” crowd - Ps 27:10-11, 13-14
*Col 3:1-3

II. WE worship GOD - BECAUSE HE deserves it.

a. Because He is a being of spotless unending holiness!
b. Because of His power!
c. Because of His tenderness!
*He’d die for your sins before He let you die in your sins, and so He did!

CONCLUSION:
What do you do with such a Savior as Jesus?
“I will _____________________________ Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.”
