My
Dog Is Better Than Your Dog
Colossians 2:13-17
August 9, 2006
Our
struggle for security causes us to think that our choices and
opinions are better than those of others. The team we root for,
the car we drive, even our dog must be better because it is
ours. We want to think that we have made right choices. Our
insecurity causes us to not want our choices to be judged. We
feel bad when we are judged. Yet we frequently judge each other.
We are complete in Christ and no longer need to be concerned
with man’s opinions, or our own, only with the judgment
of the Word.
Four
ways that Christ keeps us from man’s judgment:
He
gave us ______________ vs. 13a
He gave us _______________ vs. 13b
He gave us________________ vs. 14
He gave us_______________ vs. 15
Don’t
submit to those who ____________ you, remember that they are
the ___________ brothers vs. 16
Don’t go back to ____________ practices vs. 17
Application
steps:
I
will remember what Christ has done to free me from being judged
I will be slow in giving my opinions about the lifestyle choices
of others
I will find my security in Christ and not the opinions of
others
I will not go back to legalistic living
I will stop being the judge
