Purpose
& Beliefs
- WE BELIEVE
ALL SCRIPTURE WAS GIVEN BY VERBAL, COMPLETE, AND INERRANT
INSPIRATION OF GOD (2 Tim 3:16) and God has promised to
preserve every jot and tittle of what He inspired (Mt 5:18).
This Bible is preserved for us without error in the King James
Authorized Version of 1611 A.D. We hold to the Authorized
Version (King James Bible) as the standard for English teaching
within our local church and believe we find within it the
certainty of the words of truth (Pro 22:20-21).
- GOD
IS A TRIUNE BEING. (One God, Three persons) (Colossians
2:9) For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
- THE
VIRGIN BIRTH OF CHRIST (Isaiah 7:14) Therefore the
Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall
conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
- THE
DEITY OF CHRIST. (I Timothy 3:16) And without controversy
great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the
flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto
the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
(John 8:58) Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto
you, Before Abraham was, I am.
-
THE SINLESS LIFE OF CHRIST.
( II Corinthians 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for
us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness
of God in Him.
-
THE VOLUNTARY AND VICARIOUS DEATH OF CHRIST.
(John 10:17) Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay
down my life, that I might take it again. (John 10:18) No
man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have
power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This
commandment have I received of my father.
- THE
BLOOD OF CHRIST NECESSARY FOR SALVATION. (Romans
5:9) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him. (Hebrews 9:22) And
almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without
shedding of blood is no remission. (Revelation 1:5) And from
Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto
him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own
blood,
-
THE BODILY RESURRECTION OF CHRIST.
(Matthew 28:6) He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Acts 1:3) To whom
also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible
proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the
things pertaining to the kingdom of God: (Luke 24:39) Behold
my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and
see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
- THE
PRIESTLY MINISTRY OF CHRIST. (Hebrews 3:1) Wherefore,
holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider
the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
-
THE MEDIATION OF CHRIST. (I
Timothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
- THE
PRE-MILLENNIAL, PRE-TRIBULATION RETURN OF CHRIST.
(Acts 1:11) Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand
ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken
up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye
have seen him go into heaven. (I Thessalonians 4:16) For the
Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first:(I Thessalonians 4:17)
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and
so shall we ever be with the Lord.
- THE
MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST ON EARTH. (Revelation
20:6) Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be
priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand
years. (Revelation 5:10) And hast made us unto our God kings
and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
- SALVATION
ENTIRELY BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH ALONE. (Ephesians
2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (Ephesians 2:9) Not
of works, lest any man should boast.
-
THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER.
(John 5:24) Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that heareth
my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting
life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed
from death unto life. (John 10:27) My sheep hear my voice,
and I know them, and they follow me: (John 10:28) And I give
unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (John 10:29) My Father,
which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able
to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (John 10:30) I and
my Father are one.
- THE
LOCAL CHURCH AND ITS COMMISSION. (I Corinthians 12:27)
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
(Matthew 28:19)Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Ghost:(Matthew 28:20) Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway,
even unto the end of the world. Amen.
- BELIEVER'S
BAPTISM ONLY. (Acts 8:36) And as they went on their
way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said,
See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? (Acts
8:37) And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart,
thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God.
-
TWO ORDINANCES OF THE LOCAL CHURCH - WATER BAPTISM BY IMMERSION
AND THE LORD'S SUPPER. (Neither
have any saving value.) (Matthew 3:16) And Jesus, when he
was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and lo,
the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of
God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo
a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom
I am well pleased. (Luke 22:19) And he took bread, and gave
thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is
my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of
me. (Luke 22:20) Likewise also the cup after supper, saying,
This cup is the new testament in my blood which is shed for
you.
-
BIBLICAL SOUL WINNING. (Proverbs
11:30) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; And he
that winneth souls is wise.
-
MISSIONS. (Acts 1:8) But ye
shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon
you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part
of the earth.
